Role: enterprise headset alternative to Quest, and a tethered hero-quality option.

Hardware

HTC Vive Focus Vision (launched 2024): standalone headset that also runs PC-VR over DisplayPort; business edition with enterprise support; eye tracking. Older Focus 3 and XR Elite remain in the field. Confirm current models before purchase.

Why consider it

• Business warranty and device management at a time when Meta has dropped commercial SKUs.
• PC-tethered mode lets a venue show the Cine character in VR with a desktop GPU.

Build path (Unreal 5.8)

• OpenXR with Vive's OpenXR support; same project as Quest.
• Standalone: Optimized character, mobile renderer (as Quest).
• PC-VR: Cine character where frame budget allows.
• Device management through Vive Business tools or a third-party MDM (ArborXR supports multiple brands).
