Protect the hybrid the same way you protect any modern intake: fresh engine and cabin filters before you leave, recirc A/C in dust, tape/seal the cabin filter door if it leaks, and expect a detail + filter change after. Playa dust will get into the HVAC. It is annoying, not automatically fatal if you do not force unfiltered air into the engine.
Buy a full-size spare + jack plan. Many CR-V Hybrids ship with only an inflator.
