Assignment · Project 3: Composite Shot
Weeks 7–9 · Runtime 10–15 seconds · Weight 15%
Brief
Key a green-screen clip (or a free stock subject) into a new environment and add a footage-inside-type title. Goal: a believable composite, color-matched and grounded.
Classes that build it
- Week 7 — Compositing / Keying
- Week 8 — Track Mattes
- Week 9 — Project 3 Wrap-Up
Must deliver
- A clean key with refined edges — no green fringe
- One track-matte title (footage showing through text)
- Color/light match between subject and background
How it's graded
Scored on the course rubric (0–100) × 15%. A project that is portfolio-ready (80+) lands at the A/B boundary. See the Course Overview for the full rubric, then self-review before you submit.
Submitting your work
- Render your final movie to spec (H.264 MP4, 1080p, at the project's frame rate).
- Upload the rendered movie only — do not upload the project, AE files, or source files.
- Archive your project (collect files) into a single compressed ZIP for your own records.
See the course's Rendering and Submission pages for the exact steps.
