The video describes how Nick Milo combined Obsidian Bases and Workspaces into four distinct “modes” of Obsidian—Inner Guide, Producer, Synthesizer, and Creative—and shows concrete dashboards and sidebars for each mode.youtube
Video Outline
1. Setup and core idea
-
Introduces the idea that in “one click” you can switch between four powerful Obsidian modes by combining Bases with Workspaces.youtube
-
Names the modes and their purposes: Inner Guide (reflection and mapping life), Producer (projects and execution), Synthesizer (relationships and ACE), and Creative (dots and gardening), all bundled in his Bases Masterclass or reproducible manually.youtube
2. Prerequisite: Workspaces configuration
-
Walks through enabling the core Workspaces plugin (Settings → Core plugins → Workspaces) and then assigning hotkeys under Hotkeys.youtube
-
Sets two main hotkeys: one to manage workspace layouts (Command+Control+Option+5 on Mac) and one to save layout (same modifiers + 8), deliberately spaced apart on the keyboard to avoid accidental presses.youtube
-
Demonstrates switching between a “base blank slate” workspace and a “base blank with recents” workspace that shows a Recents base in the sidebar, as a way to reset when overwhelmed.youtube
3. Mode 1 – Inner Guide (Dynamic Days)
-
Loads the Inner Guide – Dynamic Days workspace: a central Calendar base plus special left and right sidebars.youtube
-
Center pane: Calendar base showing all daily notes sorted by file name Z→A so the latest date is at the top.youtube
-
Left sidebar: same Calendar base in a “Days table by month” view, grouped by created month (November, October, September), giving a monthly overview of daily notes.youtube
-
Right sidebar: Calendar base in “Days list by month” view, similar content but also showing what each daily note links out to, effectively surfacing the outbound links of all recent days.youtube
-
Demonstrates adding a concept (“steel manning”) to today’s daily note and shows how that note instantly appears in the right sidebar with its outbound links, illustrating live “reflection” and link tracking.youtube
4. Inner Guide – Dynamic Reviews
-
Switches to Inner Guide – Dynamic Reviews, a zoomed‑out reflection workspace built on the same Calendar base.youtube
-
Left sidebar: “Reviews by year” table view listing important notes for the current year (e.g., “2024 year review,” “year preview”) with created dates, used to quickly find high‑value reflective notes that are often otherwise lost.youtube
-
Right sidebar: a similar list, but focused on what each review note links out to, giving more detail and helping track where major reviews point in the vault.youtube
-
Emphasizes that this mode lets the “inner guide” archetype surface long‑term reflections in one hotkey press.youtube
5. Mode 2 – Producer (Dynamic Projects)
-
Loads Producer – Dynamic Projects, focused on execution and prioritization.youtube
-
Right sidebar: Active Projects base view listing active projects sorted by rank (higher rank = higher priority); uses examples like “Bases deliverable” for LYT Workshop 16 and “Light book block two.”youtube
-
Demonstrates re‑ranking: lowers the bases deliverable rank (finished, just tying loops) and raises the book project rank, showing how the sidebar instantly reorders and how switching to producer mode immediately frames bandwidth and priorities.youtube
-
Clarifies the folder structure behind this:
Efforts/Projects/Active,Efforts/Projects/Simmering, andEfforts/Projects/Sleeping, each surfaced as separate views (Active, Simmering, Sleeping) in the sidebar.youtube -
Left sidebar: Recents view plus projects organized by folder/rank, essentially a broader version of the right sidebar view, so recent notes and project hierarchy are always visible.youtube
-
Opens a specific project note (e.g., Bases deliverable for Workshop 16) and points out that the right sidebar still shows the full prioritized project list while working, keeping focus on what matters.youtube
6. Producer – Dynamic E&Ps (Efforts & Projects)
-
Switches to Producer – Dynamic E&Ps, an “executive producer” zoom‑out view.youtube
-
Left sidebar: Areas of Effort (AOEs) base view, pulling from an
Efforts/Areasfolder; shows AOEs (each with an emoji) sorted by rank and last modified time for high‑level bandwidth management.youtube -
Right sidebar: Active and Simmering projects (Sleeping removed here as less relevant), letting the user see which areas have active projects and which important AOEs might be missing an active project.youtube
-
Explains the diagnostic use: if an AOE is highly ranked but has no active project, something is “out of balance,” prompting creation or promotion of a project from Simmering to Active.youtube
-
Demonstrates returning to “base blank with recents” to reset and shows that recently touched projects surface at the top of the Recents view, ensuring quick access after closing all tabs.youtube
7. Mode 3 – Synthesizer (Dynamic Relationships)
-
Introduces Synthesizer mode, starting with Dynamic Relationships, and encourages having a dedicated
basesnote that acts as a map of all bases.youtube -
Explains that Bases themselves cannot contain manual prose, so the
basesnote is where descriptions of each base (e.g.,related,unrequited) live.youtube -
Upper‑left: Related base view showing “unrequited notes that are sharing friends with the active note”: notes that point to the active note, where the active note does not link back, and that share multiple common links.youtube
-
Demonstrates switching the active note (e.g., from
basestoAurora Boris) and shows how the related/unrequited sidebars change dynamically, surfacing most relevant but under‑linked notes.youtube -
Left sidebar: Unrequited base view listing notes that link to the active note but are not linked back; used to ensure nothing “falls through the cracks” in research or complex projects (e.g., dissertation work).youtube
-
Right sidebar:
-
“Not linked but sharing friends” view: notes not directly linked to the active note but sharing at least two links in common, indicating possible relevance.
-
A complex, “serendipitous” Kapano‑created view that mixes notes the active note links to, notes that link to it, and notes that share multiple links; powerful but confusing, so he uses it less.youtube
-
8. Synthesizer – Dynamic ACE
-
Switches to Synthesizer – Dynamic ACE, which dimensionalizes backlinks according to the ACE folder structure (Atlas, Calendar, Efforts, Extras, Plus).youtube
-
Uses Arnold Schwarzenegger as an example active note:
-
Plus: nothing links to Arnold.
-
Atlas: 13 notes (mostly movies) link to Arnold.
-
Calendar: one random daily note links to Arnold, which would otherwise be forgotten.
-
Efforts and Extras: additional notes linking to Arnold.youtube
-
-
Contrasts this structured view with the core “Linked mentions” panel which shows everything in one long list and feels messy/overwhelming.youtube
-
Explains that in Dynamic ACE, each sidebar panel is a base view filtered to a folder (Atlas, Calendar, Efforts, Extras, Plus) and then further filtered to notes that link to the active note using a
file.hasLink(this.file)style condition.youtube -
Shows a larger example with the LYT book note: 5 Plus notes, 2 Extras, 14 Atlas, 33 Calendar, and 47 Efforts notes link to it, giving a multi‑dimensional view of where that project lives across the system.youtube
9. Synthesizer – Dynamic Maps
-
Moves to Synthesizer – Dynamic Maps, focused on maps of content and other higher‑order notes.youtube
-
Center pane: Maps base sorted and grouped by rank (5.3, 5.2, 5.1 etc.), listing various maps and high‑order notes.youtube
-
Left sidebar: maps views such as “standard maps” plus a “views” grouping for specific map configurations.youtube
-
Right sidebar: an “All bases” view listing all 30 bases in alphabetical order, plus additional dynamic views like Collections and Views that he cannot cover in the video.youtube
-
Defines maps of content as notes that point to other notes rather than holding full articles themselves, and notes there are many such higher‑order note types that this dashboard surfaces.youtube
10. Mode 4 – Creative (Dynamic Dots)
-
Loads Creative – Dynamic Dots, a mode designed as a playground for ideas and concept‑level work.youtube
-
Center pane: Dots base showing dot notes (things, people, statements, quotes) from the Atlas/dots structure.youtube
-
Left sidebar:
-
“Thing” notes (nouns: concepts, levers, seasons, etc.).
-
Below that, People notes, apparently sorted by modified time.youtube
-
-
Right sidebar: “Verb‑like” notes:
-
Statement notes (e.g., “Ideas are eerily like people”, “It’s selfish not to share”).
-
Quote notes (“Thinking is linking”, “Give me a lever long enough and I shall move the world”).youtube
-
-
Explains that if you have separate folders for these note types, it becomes trivial to build such dynamic dashboards; he uses ACE, with
Atlas/dots/things,Atlas/dots/people,Atlas/dots/statements, andAtlas/dots/quotesfiltered viafile.path starts withconditions.youtube
11. Creative – Dynamic Garden
-
Switches to Creative – Dynamic Garden, a digital garden built on tags.youtube
-
Center pane: Garden base, with tags like
garden/plant,garden/cultivate,garden/question,garden/repot,garden/revitalize,garden/revisitvisible in a tag view.youtube -
Left and right sidebars: each tag (or tag group) is mapped to a base view:
-
Plant: notes to be “planted” in the ideaverse by linking them into other notes.
-
Cultivate: notes known to need further development.
-
Question: ongoing questions.
-
Repot: great material buried in poorly named daily notes that needs a new standalone note name and context.
-
Revitalize and Revisit: older notes that need energy or simply another look.youtube
-
-
Highlights that Plant and Cultivate are used most, and that this tag‑based garden gives a living, dynamic view of which notes to work on in creative sessions.youtube
12. Closing mindset and invitation
-
Recommends naming workspaces explicitly by the four archetypes—Inner Guide, Producer, Synthesizer, Creative—so Workspaces become a tool for deliberately changing cognitive context with a single hotkey.youtube
-
Describes this as a “superpower” for thinking and working, because each mode instantly reconfigures the vault’s dashboards and sidebars for a different mental stance.youtube
-
Invites viewers to join the Obsidian Bases Masterclass to get all these modes as prebuilt downloads plus step‑by‑step tutorials on Bases, Workspaces, templates, and properties, or to watch his 15‑minute Obsidian basics video if new to Obsidian.youtube
From this video, can you give me a step-by-step tutorial on how to setup a workspace and then a base in Obsidian? You can use outside sources, too, if it help to clarify the steps to set up an obsidian base.
To set this up, first create a workspace layout, then create a base that powers what you see in the middle pane and sidebars.youtubeobsidian+1
Tutorial
Enable and configure Workspaces
-
Turn on Workspaces core plugin
-
Assign hotkeys for managing layouts
-
Go to Settings → Hotkeys and search for “Workspaces”.obsidianyoutube
-
Set a hotkey for “Manage workspace layouts” (Nick uses Command+Control+Option+5 on Mac; choose something similar on your system).youtube
-
Set a second hotkey for “Save layout” (he uses the same modifiers + 8 so the keys are physically separated).youtube
-
-
Create a basic workspace
-
Arrange Obsidian the way you want (e.g., one central note, sidebars visible/hidden, specific panes open).notes.nicolevanderhoevenyoutube
-
Use your Manage workspace layouts hotkey and click Save. Give it a name like
base blank slate.obsidianyoutube -
Optionally make a second workspace
base blank with recentsby opening a Recents/base view in the sidebar, then saving that layout as a different workspace.youtube
-
-
Switch between workspaces
Enable Bases and create your first base
-
Turn on the Bases plugin
-
Toggle Bases on (you need Obsidian 1.9+).youtubepracticalpkm
-
Create a base file (table of notes)
You have three main options; pick whichever fits:-
From the File explorer: Right‑click a folder (e.g.,
Atlas/Sources) and choose New base. This creates a.basefile in that folder.obsidian+1 -
From the Command Palette: Press Command/Control+P → type “Bases” → choose Bases: Create new base to create a standalone base in the active file’s folder.youtubeobsidian
-
Insert into an existing note: Command/Control+P → Bases: Insert new base to create a base and embed it directly into the current note.youtubeobsidian
-
-
Open and inspect the base
-
Click the new base file; you will see a table view listing notes (by default, all files or all files in that folder).practicalpkmyoutube
-
Use the column header menu to show/hide properties like
file.name,file.path,file.created,file.modified, tags, or any frontmatter fields you already have.youtubepracticalpkm
-
Filter and shape what the base shows
-
Add global filters (All views)
-
Create specific views (per‑use slices)
-
In the base, add a new View (e.g., “Active Projects”, “Books”, “Days by Month”).obsidian+1
-
For each view, you can:
-
Choose View type (table, list, cards, depending on your Obsidian version).practicalpkmyoutube
-
Under This view filters, add extra conditions; e.g.:
-
-
Adjust sorting (e.g.,
rankdescending, thenfile.createddescending) and grouping (e.g., group by created month for daily notes).obsidianyoutube
-
-
Edit properties inline in the base
-
Click into a cell (e.g.,
rank, status, author) and edit it directly; the base will re‑sort instantly.youtube+1 -
This is how Nick promotes/demotes projects in his Producer mode by changing the
rankproperty.youtube
-
Wire bases into a workspace layout
-
Place the base in the center pane
-
Embed base views in sidebars
-
Save this as a workspace mode
-
With the central base and sidebar dashboards arranged, use your Save layout hotkey.obsidianyoutube
-
Name it something like
Inner Guide – Dynamic DaysorProducer – Dynamic Projects.youtube -
Repeat with other combinations (different bases/views in center and sidebars) to build multiple modes you can switch between in one keystroke.youtube
-
Minimal “from scratch” recipe
-
Workspace:
- Enable Workspaces → set hotkeys → open base + sidebar notes → Save layout as a named mode.notes.nicolevanderhoeven+1youtube
-
Base:
- Enable Bases → Create new base in your target folder → add filters for folder/tag → add views for different slices → sort/group as needed → embed views into dashboard notes and sidebars.obsidian+1youtube
If you tell which first base you want (e.g., Projects, Calendar, Sources), a concrete YAML/property setup for that exact use case can be sketched next.

I'd like to set up a Calendar base. Can you help me with that?
Calendar Base Setup
Yes. Here’s a concrete, minimal way to build a Calendar base similar to what Nick shows, assuming you’re already using Daily Notes.youtubeobsidian
1. Prepare your daily notes
-
In Settings → Core plugins → Daily notes, set:
-
Make sure you actually have some daily notes in that folder (create a few with the Daily Notes button/hotkey).obsidian
2. Enable the Bases plugin
-
Go to Settings → Core plugins.obsidian
-
Turn Bases on (Obsidian 1.9+).youtubepracticalpkm
3. Create a Calendar base file
-
In the File explorer, right‑click your daily-notes folder (e.g.
CalendarorCalendar/Daily).practicalpkm+1 -
Choose New base.
-
Give it a name like
Calendar base. This creates a.basefile and opens it as a table.obsidian
You should now see a list of notes in a table view (one row per note).youtubepracticalpkm
4. Filter the base to only daily notes
-
In the Calendar base toolbar, click Filter.obsidian+1
-
Under All views (global filters), add a condition:
-
Property:
file.path -
Operator:
starts with -
Value:
Calendar/Daily(or your actual daily-notes folder path).obsidian+1
-
-
Confirm. The table should now only show daily notes.obsidian
5. Add useful columns and sorting
-
In the header row, use the column menu to show at least:obsidianyoutube
-
file.name -
file.created -
file.modified -
any date property you use in frontmatter (e.g.
date).
-
-
In the Sort section:
This gives you a simple “Days list” base like Nick’s center pane.youtube
6. Create “Days by month” and “On This Day” views
A. Days by month (grouped table)
-
In the Calendar base, create a new View and name it
Days by month.obsidian -
Use View type: Table.obsidian
-
Under Group, choose
file.created(or yourdateproperty) and group by month. This will stack November, October, etc., as sections.youtubeobsidian -
Keep the same sort (latest first).
This mimics Nick’s left sidebar “Days table by month”.youtube
B. On This Day (same calendar day across years)
-
Create another View called
On this day.obsidian -
Use View type: Table.
-
Add a This view filter (keep your folder filter from step 4):
-
Property: your date property or
file.name(if it includes the date). -
Logic: filter to notes whose month and day match today.
-
Because Bases UI is evolving, the simplest workaround right now is:
-
Either use a separate date property (e.g.
day-of-year) computed beforehand. -
Or manually set a filter for a specific day while you’re experimenting (e.g.
file.name contains 12-28).obsidian+1
-
-
Nick’s “Dynamic Days” workspace uses a similar On This Day style view to surface many years of daily notes for the same date.youtube
7. Embed Calendar views into a dashboard note
-
Create a note called
Inner Guide – Dynamic Days.youtube -
Inside, embed your views:
# Dynamic Days
Left (month view):
![[Calendar base#Days by month]]
Right (list view):
![[Calendar base#Default view]] <!-- or "On this day", etc. -->
- Open this dashboard note twice and drag one copy into the left sidebar and one into the right sidebar, picking the appropriate embedded view in each pane.obsidianyoutube
Now you have the “Calendar in center + left/right sidebars” pattern from the video.youtube
8. Save as a workspace (optional but powerful)
-
Arrange panes as you like:
-
Center:
Calendar basein your preferred view. -
Left sidebar: dashboard note showing
Days by month. -
Right sidebar: dashboard note showing
On this dayor “Days list”.youtube
-
-
Use Workspaces:
From now on, one hotkey gives you a live calendar dashboard over all daily notes, just like in the video.youtube
If you tell how your daily notes are currently named and where they live, a concrete filter expression and property set for your exact vault can be sketched next.

You can set up a Projects base by first organizing a Projects folder, then creating a base filtered to that folder with views for Active, Simmering, and Sleeping projects.youtubeobsidian
Projects Base
1. Prepare your Projects folders and note template
-
In your vault, create an Efforts/Projects structure (or adapt names to your system):tfthacker.substackyoutube
-
Efforts/Projects/Active -
Efforts/Projects/Simmering -
Efforts/Projects/Sleeping
-
-
Create a project note template (used when you start new projects) with frontmatter like:
---
type: project
status: active # active | simmering | sleeping
rank: 5.0 # priority; higher = more important
area: # optional: Area of Effort
up: # optional: parent project/effort
---
# {{title}}
- **Status:** active
- **Rank:** 5.0
- **Area:**
- **Up:**
## Why this project matters
## Next actions
- [ ]
## Notes
This gives Bases consistent properties to display and sort.obsidianyoutube
2. Enable Bases and create the Projects base
-
Ensure Bases is enabled in Settings → Core plugins.obsidian+1
-
In the File explorer, right‑click the top Projects folder (e.g.
Efforts/Projects).obsidian -
Choose New base and name it
Projects base.obsidian -
Open
Projects base; you should see a table of all notes underEfforts/Projects.obsidian
3. Filter the base to only project notes
-
In
Projects base, click Filter.obsidian+1 -
Under All views (global filters), add:
-
Property:
file.path -
Operator:
starts with -
Value:
Efforts/Projects(adjust if your folder is named differently).obsidian+1
-
-
Optionally, add another global filter to ensure only project notes are shown:
-
Property:
type -
Operator:
= -
Value:
project.obsidian
-
Now the base lists only project notes in your Projects folders.obsidian
4. Add useful columns and default sorting
-
In the header row of the table, use the column menu to show:obsidian+1
-
file.name -
file.path -
rank -
status -
area -
up -
file.modified
-
-
In Sort, configure:youtubeobsidian
-
Primary:
rankdescending (higher rank at top). -
Secondary:
file.modifieddescending (recently touched projects first).
-
This gives you a “Projects – All” view similar to Nick’s main Projects base.youtube
5. Create views for Active, Simmering, and Sleeping
You’ll create three views that all share the global folder filter but slice by subfolder or status.obsidianyoutube
-
Active Projects view
-
Simmering Projects view
-
Add a view named
Simmering. -
Filter:
file.path starts with Efforts/Projects/Simmeringorstatus = simmering.youtube
-
-
Sleeping Projects view
-
Add a view named
Sleeping. -
Filter:
file.path starts with Efforts/Projects/Sleepingorstatus = sleeping.youtube
-
You now have three tabs inside Projects base that match the three intensities.tfthacker.substackyoutube
6. Use and update projects via the base
-
Promote / demote a project:youtube
-
Either drag the note between
Active,Simmering,Sleepingfolders in the File explorer. -
Or change
statusin the note/frontmatter and move it later; your views will update automatically.obsidian
-
-
Change priority:
- Click the
rankcell in the base and edit the number; the table instantly re‑sorts, just like Nick changing which project is on top.youtube+1
- Click the
-
Create a new project:
7. Optionally wire this into a “Producer – Dynamic Projects” workspace
-
Center pane: open
Projects baseon theActiveview.youtube -
Right sidebar: embed
Projects base#Activein a dashboard note and pin it to the sidebar so your ranked project list is always visible.obsidianyoutube -
Left sidebar: embed
Projects base#Active,Projects base#Simmering, andProjects base#Sleepingin another dashboard or stacked panes for a wider overview.youtube -
Save this arrangement as a workspace (e.g.,
Producer – Dynamic Projects) using the Workspaces plugin as described earlier.obsidianyoutube
If you share your existing folder names and any project properties you already use, the filters and columns can be tuned precisely to your vault.

Lastly, I have a number of obsidian notes that are video outlines, with properties like image, Title, Creator, url, created (date), subject (list), description, and tags. I'd like to make a base for these so I can quickly find video by subject, date, creator, or simlarities. How do I set that up? We can start with workspaces and go from there!
Video Outlines Base
Set this up in two layers: a workspace for “video mode,” and a base that indexes your video-outline notes by properties like creator, subject, and date.obsidian
1. Workspace for video notes
-
Enable Workspaces (if not already)
-
Arrange a “Video Hub” layout
-
Open a few typical video notes in the main pane and side pane so you can see properties while taking notes.
-
Leave one empty pane (or tab) where your Videos base will live.
-
-
Save the workspace
You will come back and drop the base into this workspace’s empty pane.
2. Standardize properties on your video notes
Make sure your video-outline notes share consistent properties so the base can filter and group them well.youtube

-
Keep property names exactly the same across notes:
image,Title,Creator,url,created,subject,description,tags.youtube -
If some notes live in a specific folder (e.g.
Atlas/Videos), that will make filtering easier.obsidian
3. Create a “Videos” base
-
Enable Bases
- In Settings → Core plugins, turn on Bases.obsidian
-
Create the base file
-
In the File explorer, right‑click the folder that holds your video notes (e.g.
Atlas/Videos). -
Choose New base and name it
Videos base.obsidian+1 -
Open
Videos base; you should see a table of notes.
-
-
Global filter: only video notes
-
In the base toolbar, click Filter.obsidian
-
Under All views, add:
-
file.path starts with Atlas/Videos(or your actual folder). -
type = videoif you usetype: videoin frontmatter.retypeapp.github
-
-
This base is now your master index of video-outline notes.obsidian
4. Add key columns and default sorting
-
Show useful columns
-
Use the column menu to add:
Title,Creator,created,subject,tags,url,image.practicalpkm -
You can also keep
file.nameandfile.pathvisible for debugging.
-
-
Sort defaults
-
In Sort, set:
-
Primary:
createddescending (newest videos first). -
Secondary:
Titleascending.obsidian
-
-
Now you can already scan by date and quickly see creator and subjects.obsidian
5. Create views for subject, creator, and date
A. “By subject” view (filter or group)
-
Add a new View in
Videos basenamedBy subject.obsidian -
Keep View type: Table.
-
To scan by subject, you have two options:
-
Simple filter for one subject at a time
- Use the filter dropdown in this view:
subject contains <pick a subject>.
- Use the filter dropdown in this view:
-
Group by subject (if on a version with group-by)
- In Sort/Group, choose Group by:
subjectso you get blocks per subject.productivematters.substack
- In Sort/Group, choose Group by:
This makes it easy to see all videos related to “Obsidian”, “AI”, “History”, etc.obsidian
B. “By creator” view
-
Add a view named
By creator. -
Use View type: Table.
-
Use either:
-
Filter:
Creator = Nick Milo(or any creator), which you can change on the fly. -
Or Group by:
Creatorso you get one section per creator.productivematters.substack
-
C. “Timeline” view (by created date)
-
Add a view named
Timeline. -
Keep View type: Table.
-
Sort by
createddescending, and optionally group by year or month if your Bases version supports date grouping.productivematters.substack+1
Now you can scan: “What videos did I process in November?” or “Which notes came from 2023?”.practicalpkm
6. Use similarity views (same subject or creator)
To find “similar” videos, combine filters on subject and Creator.obsidian
-
Create a view
Similar – subjectwith a filter like:subject contains Obsidian(adjust subject as needed).
-
Create a view
Similar – creator+subjectwith filters:-
Creator = Nick Milo -
subject contains Bases.
-
For more flexible “similarity,” you can keep a general By subject view and just tweak the filter interactively each time.youtube
7. Drop the base into your video workspace
-
Open your
Video – Dynamic Libraryworkspace.obsidian -
In the empty pane you reserved, open
Videos baseand choose the view you want by default (e.g.TimelineorBy subject).youtube -
Save the workspace again so it remembers that
Videos baseis part of the layout.obsidian
Optional:
- Create a dashboard note, e.g.
Video Library, and embed specific views:
# Video Library
All videos:
By subject:
By creator:
- Pin this dashboard into a sidebar so you can always filter by subject/creator while a single video note is open in the main pane.obsidianyoutube
If you share the exact folder path of your video notes and whether subject is always a list, a precise set of filter/group choices (and example screenshots in words) can be tailored to match your vault structure.
