Week 10 — Screen Flow
GAME 1303 · Tuesday, October 27, 2026 · 9:00 AM – 1:50 PM
A prototype opens straight into gameplay. A game has a front door. Today you build all five screens and cut one HUD element you can't justify.
This week at a glance
| Block | Time | What happens |
|---|---|---|

Healthcomponent on your player. - Think about what's actually on your HUD and why.
Lecture topics
| Section | Topics |
|---|---|
| 001 — Unity 6.x | UI Toolkit: UXML and USS · UI Builder, flexbox layout · UIManager and screen switching |
| 002 — Unreal 5.8 | UMG widgets and anchors · Widget hierarchy · Widget switcher and screen flow |
Exercise — Ex 7 — Screen Flow
Title, HUD, pause, win, lose — navigable both ways, restyled, HUD bound to live values.
Open the version for your section:
Worth 2 points: one for Implementation (it builds and runs, the feature works), one for the Design decision (a deliberate, defensible choice beyond the defaults). Due at the end of the class period — late work earns the Implementation point only.
Lab goals
- Finish your screens on your own game.
- Prepare for next week's milestone — you'll navigate the full flow live in front of the room.
